Governor Brown’s Veto Of Semi-Automatic Rifle Bill – “Blood on His Hands” say some
Reactions are mixed to Governor Brown’s vetoes of recent gun bills coming across his desk. It appears the biggest upset was his veto of the semi-automatic rifle bill.
California Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown – the proponent of the “paddle to the left, paddle to the right” school of politics — now finds both camps firing away at his actions on a score of gun legislation today.
While the gun rights conservatives are blasting him for signing what they’re lambasting as “the strictest set” of gun laws in the country, the left is also blasting Brown — saying he has “blood on his hands” for “inexcusable” vetoes.
Their key issue: the veto of SB 374 by Senator Darrell Steinberg,” which conservatives called called “draconian” — but which progressives supported for its ban on future sales of most semi-automatic rifles.
